Mark en Jacolien van den Steenhoven are the founders of Stepping stones. They have a passion for Jesus and his church. Their desire is that God's kingdom will be expanded and become more and more visible in our society.
That desire grew when they were involved in starting CrossPoint, a church plant in Nieuw Vennep, in the late 1990s.
They both have a theological degree and Mark and Jacolien have had different jobs in different Christian and non-Christian organizations.
At the moment Mark works as an application manager for a NGO and Jacolien is a coach.
In 2012, they moved to Sheffield to immerse themselves in the culture of misional discipleship and
to work for 3DM Europe where they were responsible for the Coaching department. 3DM trains
churches and Christian leaders for discipleship and mission in a post-Christian society.
Together with Sharon Earl Mark and Jacolien lead a missional household in Sheffield where they
offered a Discipleship Immersion to people
who want to learn a missional lifestyle.
During their stay in England they have written 'Stepping-stones to a day to day missional lifestyle'.
The content of this book forms the basis for the coaching.
After their England period they have had a sabbatical for six months in which they are
with them traveled through Europe and visited the people they coached they are in
Gouda and they started a new missional community in the autumn of 2019.
